Reservations

Fine-tune your reservation rules to control how and when customers can book, ensuring smooth and efficient venue operations.

Getting your reservation rules just right is key to running a smooth, efficient venue. Whether you’re managing a single tennis court or a bustling multi-sport facility, Thril gives you complete control over how and when your customers can book. Let’s walk through how to fine-tune your reservation settings to fit your operations.

🧭 Where to Find the Settings

To configure your reservation rules:

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu on the left sidebar.
  2. Under Venue settings, select Reservation settings.

This opens up all the reservation preferences available for your venue. Changes apply instantly across the platform and help shape how customers interact with your availability.

🟢 Enable or Disable Reservations

At the top of the page, you’ll find a toggle labeled Enable court reservations.

  • On: Customers can make reservations as usual.
  • Off: Reservations are disabled for the entire venue. Existing recurring reservations won’t be affected, but the venue will appear as inactive on Thril.

This is useful for seasonal closures or maintenance periods.

📝 Add Reservation Instructions

Use the Reservation instructions field to include any helpful details customers should know before arriving. For example:

  • Entry codes (e.g. “Door code: 010101”)
  • Parking details
  • Equipment pickup locations
  • Any house rules

These notes appear to customers briefly before and after their bookings. You can also include specific court-level instructions in the Manage courts section.

📆 Define a Reservation Window

Control how far in advance players can book with the Reservation window setting. Choose from:

  • 1 week
  • 2 weeks
  • 1 month

This helps you manage traffic, prevent overly distant bookings, and maintain flexibility for events or maintenance planning.

⏰ Set a Cancellation Deadline

Life happens. But you decide how much notice is fair.

The Reservation cancellation deadline determines how close to the booking time players can cancel. For example, if you select 24 hours, players must cancel at least a day in advance.

After that point:

  • Cancellations are no longer allowed.
  • Players can mark the reservation for resale instead.

This helps protect your revenue and court availability.

🚫 Hide Unusable Gaps

Toggle on Exclude unwanted time slot gaps to automatically clean up your schedule.

This feature hides leftover slots that are too short to be booked. It improves the customer booking experience and helps you maximize revenue by reducing dead time between reservations.

✅ Finalizing Changes

Once your preferences are set, just hit Save reservation settings at the bottom. That’s it! Your venue is now running on your terms.
